During the 118th Congress, numerous bills were introduced addressing artificial intelligence-related issues, including in particular the issues of deepfakes and digital replicas. Similar bills have not yet been introduced in the 119th Congress. As a result, this is a good time to reevaluate the existing right of publicity and artificial intelligence laws that exist in the United States. This panel will discuss those laws, as well as the proposals from the 118th Congress that may be reintroduced in the new Congress.
